New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka Yearling Sale - Lot 511 Per Incanto x Real Angel 16' Filly

"A sharp, 2YO type of filly! Very strong and has a lovely temperament! She also has scope and size to continue to grow & improve physically as a 2YO/3YO and beyond. I am overjoyed to be given this filly to train by Mr & Mrs Francis & Christine Cook who are fantastic supporters of the stable and I look forward to sharing her racing career with everyone. We have had some great success with these lease fillies over the years including Faraway Town who has won almost $850,000 in prizemoney. If anyone feels like they are ready to experience the thrill of racehorse ownership then this filly is the one for you."
- Matthew Smith

Leasing is an exciting way to taste the thrill of racehorse ownership. Unlike syndication, leasing involves a small lease fee & the lessee then contributes to the upkeep of the horse such as training fees, pretraining fees & agistment fees whilst also being entitled to receiving prizemoney for races won.

With only three full crops of racing age, conceived off service fees of just $4,000 and $5,000, the impact Per Incanto has made on the racetracks of New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore has been remarkable, in the process ensuring the group winning sprinting son of Street Cry is one of New Zealand's most in demand young stallions.

In 2016/17 his leading three-year-olds included Saracino, a three time Group 2 winner during the season with wins over older horses in the Group 2 Foxbridge Plate as well as the Group 2 Danehill Stakes at Flemington and the Group 2 Wellington Guineas, Listed winner It's A Kind Of Magic, Group 1 1000 Guineas place-getter Sweepstake and promising sprinter Don Carlo, who won four races from seven starts.

What's very apparent is the number of his progeny who are training on. A Group 1 winner as a two-year-old and dual Group placed in Melbourne as a spring three-year-old, Dal Cielo won twice in Sydney in 2017 and placed second at Group 3 level over the Championships last year. Nahema, runner-up in the Group 2 Matamata Breeders Stakes, while as a four and five-year-old Lanciato has shown himself to be one of the more progressive gallopers in Sydney as he competed in the Doncaster this year finishing 7th.

In fact Per Incanto's two new stakes winners for 2017/18 are both five-year-olds: Shadows Casts deadheat win in the Group 2 Couplands Bakery Mile and the CD star Dolcettos win in the Group 3 Merial Mile have lifted Per Incantos stakes winning tally to seven.
